Founded in 1973 by a group of dedicated volunteers, the Rockland Council on Alcoholism and Other Drug Dependence, Inc. was inspired by the efforts of Marty Mann, one of the first women in Alcoholics Anonymous and the founder of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence.
Marty’s advocacy helped raise awareness about addiction as a treatable disease. The Rockland Council’s mission is to educate the public about addiction and provide support to individuals and families affected by substance use. We serve as a comprehensive resource for preventing substance use and supporting recovery.
